Grateful

I love this time of year. The more obvious reasons are the holiday cheer, the twinkling lights, and chilly atmosphere that makes you want to curl up by a fire. Perhaps the less obvious reason, but I think is the most important, is all the time I get to spend with my family and Dominic. I have always been very close to my family, and each time I move away I grow a deeper appreciation for them.
Really, it's my family who inspires me. I have always wanted to do my best and work hard, because they have done so much for me. I literally would not be here without them :)More importantly though, I wouldn't be where I'm at in my growth as an individual without them.
I know that not everyone gets dealt the same cards in life. Nobody is perfect, and my family and I are definitely not perfect. However, what I think differs us from others is that we make an effort. We do our best to spend time together, and be completely honest with each other. I'm sure it helped that I have always been a terrible lier :)
Any time someone asks me what's one thing I could never live without? I always answer my family. I love them so much, and I have an extra amount of gratitude during this season. I am REALLY looking forward to when I'll be home for the holidays. I'm getting gitty inside thinking about all the family, food, and of course relaxation I'll have.
A little side note to those who may not have strong family connections, remember we choose our family. It's the love and bond you have with someone that makes a person your family-- not birth :)
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season. I am so grateful that I have been able to share my journey with you these past few months. Cheers to 2014 and
Happy Thanksgiving!
Love,
The City Feline
