Autumn is just around the corner... I mean it's already next week! Time has been flying by. Even though it's still mid 80 degree weather in Southern California, I still want to get in the fall spirit. I'm okay with not needing to be bundled or cozy. Still, even with this warm weather I can still enjoy the colors that this season has to offer. The browns, oranges, and yellows are all so beautiful, and I'm a bit jealous of those who actually get to see the colors change. Here are six ways you can get started to get in the fall spirit!
Decor
1. Fall Garland
I love making my home feel like fall. Last year I made some D.I.Y. decorations that I could use in future years. I made this cute fall garland from from Inspiration Nook. It's so simple, and adds a warm touch to the place.
2. Cat face garland
Hopefully you all know by now that I'm a huge cat fan! I love my little kitty Carmello, and I really just can never get enough cat stuff! I know silly! I fell completely in love with this awesome cat garland! I think this is going to be on the soon D.I.Y. list to make this year. I know I can use these for years to come too!
Food
Mmmm...food! It's really what I look forward to throughout the day :) I love the different kinds of veggies that are available during this season. However, since I'm in sunny Southern California I try to keep my oven use to a minimum.
3. No bake cookie recipe
Most people make these during the summer, but I think they look scrumptious to eat all year around. A Beautiful Mess has all sorts of different recipes for each season! One of my favorite blogs!
4. Chex snack mix
Want something super simple and delicious? Try the Runway Chef's chex snack mix. The colors are perfect for the fall!
Halloween!
Of course with fall around the corner, that means Halloween is next! I love Halloween. I think dressing up and having another reason to celebrate is awesome! Now, I absolutely do NOT like anything scary, so I keep everything pretty and cute!
5. Painted pattern pumpkins
Try to say that 3 times in a row! Haha! I painted pumpkins last year and Alisa Burke's post totally inspired me. The best part is that pumpkins will last forever since you aren't opening them up! It's a cute way to decorate something in a unique way.
6. Halloween costume- Mary Poppins and Bert
I also love dressing up for Halloween! Dominic and I plan to be Mary Poppins and Bert this year. It's perfect, because I'll be going to Mickey's Halloween Party! Disney themed and cute? I'm in! Keiko Lynn looks like the spitting image of Mary!
These are just starters for you to dive into this next season. You can check out more ideas on my Pinterest board.
Do any of you have any fun traditions, pretty decor, or awesome Halloween costumes? I would love for you to share!
Happy weekend!
Love,
