Living in the Present

The beauty of of our lives is that each person has their own unique story. No two people are the same. It's interesting because everyone experiences each day in their own way. The same situation could have several interpretations just because we all think differently. We all have our own emotions and express it in our own unique ways.

To be honest, I know I care a lot about what people think of me. But in the back of my head I know better. I shouldn't care what people think or say, and just be myself! What helps me put that mindset on is thinking in the present. I'll be the first to admit that I miss the past and wish for the future. Of course it's okay to reminisce and make goals for the future. However, I do want to point out that soaking up the present moment and not caring about what others think or say are feelings that are indescribable. It's almost a blissful feeling. I know I'm in the present when I'm focused on the particular action I'm doing. That could be working on something at my job, hanging out with new friends or watching a movie. What also helps to stay in the present is putting my phone down, and stepping away from the virtual world.

For me, to revel in the moment is to fully commit my thoughts and actions to what I'm doing at that present time.

Trust me, it's a continual practice and I'm learning more and more about it on a daily basis. I want to grow, be myself, and absorb the present. It's a gift of the present, and I want to take as much of it in as I can.

Have a beautiful day. Carmello wanted to say hi too!

Love,
The City Feline
