The Gift of an Experience

Every year there are days we celebrate whether it be Christmas, birthdays, Mother's Day, Father's Day, graduation, anniversaries, and the list goes on. I am a big advocate of celebrating people or something special. These days objects like presents aren't really what I want. I want to be with the people I love that make me feel good. I also enjoy experiences given as gifts rather than actual object. Personally, I remember the experience of a birthday or celebration more than the things I get on that day.

So each time something roles around to celebrate, I do my best to think of an experience I can do. This past Mother's Day, my mama had an awesome experience that she knew she would love to do. I have to say, she's pretty creative coming up with these things! What we decided to instead of going to brunch and getting her flowers was to paint the divider in our back yard. My mama has been wanting to do this for at least a year or more, so it was the perfect thing to do!

It took us pretty much the whole day to do it! It was so much fun. We painted, listened to the Giant's game, and ate when we got hungry.

The beauty about a gift like this is that we spent time together and this paint will be up for years! She will always remember what we did for Mother's Day in 2014.

Check out the before and after photos! We love bright colors :)
